JULIE
MCCLAREY has a passion for sharing the healing love of Jesus through
a piano praise ministry. She started piano lessons at six years of
age and hasn't stopped playing! She received her Bachelors Degree in
Piano Performance from Millikin University and also studied in
Chicago, Nashville, and the University of Illinois. Julie is a
three-time undefeated winner of the World Championship Old Time
Piano Playing Competition, who has appeared on the nationally
televised Pat Sajak Talk Show in Hollywood, California. Julie also
was a featured guest at the International Ragtime Festival. She has
entertained audiences in Branson and Nashville where she was
pianist/band leader of the Country Music, U.S.A. Show at Opryland,
U.S.A. In addition, Julie has held faculty positions at Millikin
University and Illinois Wesleyan University. Currently, she teaches
students of all ages privately. Recently, Julie accompanied the
Grammy Award winning Blackwood Gospel Quartet. She has also
performed with Dino Karsonakis, gospel pianist, Jo Ann Castle of the
Lawrence Welk Show, and Steinway artist, Larry Dalton. Currently,
she is active as a soloist at various churches and civic functions
locally and nationally.
Julie is a passionate performer and articulate speaker who plays
everything from ragtime to Rachmaninoff. She includes a wide variety
of styles in her concerts including gospel, ragtime, light
classical, well-known hymns, love songs, and patriotic favorites. At
one portion in her concert, she even plays with her arms behind her
back! She is available for church concerts, retreats, seminars,
concert hall settings, or banquet events.
Julie is currently on the music faculty at Illinois Wesleyan
University and travels locally and nationally sharing God's gift.
